The story of this flower is definitely special. We met Louanne at the county fair in Nevada County a few years back; we both had flowers in the agricultural competition. Walking the rows of entries, I would always stop and be taken aback by her dahlias, not even knowing they were hers. So I wrote her a note saying that I would love to talk dahlias with her. A few months later we connected, and I helped her dig up her tubers for storage for winter (BTW, Louanne is 87 and a local legend in our Dahlia Community). She gifted us some of her heirloom dahlias, some of which she had had for so long she didn't remember the names. This stunning dinner plate was one of them.
This plant is very productive. and gets huge
Blooms are 8" plus
